Este es el nombre del espectáculo principal de esta XI edición de la Feria Mundial del Toro, a celebrar en Sevilla entre el 19 y 22 de este Febrero de 2009, que viene hasta ahora como un Marzo adelantado.

El espectáculo principal
Con el nombre de “La Mujer y el Toro”, el dramaturgo sevillano Salvador Távora ha creado un espectáculo en el que muestra a la mujer como la única protagonista de la fiesta. Para ello, se ha inspirado en la mitología griega, remontándose en esta ocasión al encuentro de la mujer con el Minotauro. Un vez más, la belleza, el toro y el espectáculo, se darán a conocer en esta nueva edición.
El espectáculo está dividido en seis números: Apis, Dios solar de la fertilidad; El salto histórico de la mujer; La belleza y el olor de la fiesta; La Tienta de mujeres; En la vieja Creta, y El Minotauro, los origenes. Un espectáculo montado en el rancho “El Rocio” con caballos de la cuadra Hermanos Peralta. La duración es de una hora aproximadamente.
Acuerdo con la cantera
El Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Sevilla, FIBES, la Federación de Escuelas Taurinas y la Asociación Andaluza de Escuelas de Tauromaquia han firmado un acuerdo de colaboración para la realización del programa de actividades que se desarrollará en la XI Feria Mundial del Toro.
En este programa participarán 20 Escuelas de Tauromaquia de la Asociación Andaluza y, por parte de la Federación, participarán las escuelas de Badajoz, Villafranca de Xira y Valencia, que desarrollarán el programa de tientas preparado para cada día en el Pabellón Plaza y colaborarán en el denominado Toreo de Salón, novedad este año en el pabellón 2 de FIBES. Serán un total de 50 alumnos los que participen este año en la feria.
